Kitchen dance lessons from Emma

Today's project

Persimmon leaves from a friend's tree, new pot from Home Depot, then passed a gardening service taking down branches from a huge tree with the pretty, festive berries. Fun!

Happy Wednesday from a pair of silly cuckoo heads!

They do indeed love each other very much! (Editor's note: I do not support name calling).

Happy haircut faces

Things are getting awfully silly around here!

Class helper

Emma is Pre-K line leader this week and pal Sody to her left is another class helper. They just love school! It's G week and Emma put Grandpa on the board. Today she asked how to spell Terry, so sweet.

Tales of the first-time gardener

 Broccoli leaves
Basil beginning in our old bathroom sink ... dill/fennel in the pot
 Please grow, brussels sprouts!
We tried a leaf of this arugula tonight, and it's CLOSE to being harvested. This weekend!

The best of the six kale plants, two are complete runts and hardly growing (lack of sun?)
 First potato leaves pop out
The garlic will grow much taller before July 4 harvest

 Hello there, fava bean sprout
Purple cauliflower, with pots of herbs and chard
Celery and a one friendly lettuce starter ... might these be too close together, Holly?
 Fresh white radish sprouts
Come on, snap peas, keep on climbing!
Hopefully these radishes are getting close
This mint's a really spreadin' fast
Look closely, who can spot a red onion sprout?
 Closer look here...
Freshly planted lettuce and rainbow chard starters
For some reason, the weeds really like my beets and chard ... not thriving
