First tennis lesson

Uncle Evan tried to teach me to "lob like Mary Miller." I'm sure I'll have the hang of it soon. :-) Grandpa's court is nice and we hope Mary can play on it one day with us.

Flower girl

I had so much fun in Petra's sister Lucie's wedding to Quinn on Sunday in Plain. It was a gorgeous fall day.

Fun with Kristy

It was great catching up with Kristy today at the White Sox-A's game, my last game in Oakland for the season. Where did this year go anyway?

Frozen yogurt date

We spoiled our dinner just a bit, but only had small yogurts. (The bowls are just large).

Catching up ...

with Milwaukee Brewers manager Ken Macha, formerly in Oakland.

Fun with Aidan

Mom, Hallie, Aidan and I had a fun outing to the Discovery Museum today. And the weather was perfect! Nothing like finally getting summer in September. So glad we got the annual pass. Come visit and we'll take you! :-)

Mommy working

Emma now understands where we are when we aren't always with her during the day. "Mommy working." "Daddy working." (Top is with A's third baseman Eric Chavez, who is injured yet again and done for the season and perhaps for his career. Below with Venezuelan colleague Manolo Duen Hernandez, talking baseball and giving me a pep talk).

Independent reader

Emma did not want to be read to but rather to read to herself. She did some "Brown Bear" (one of Holden's favorites, too!) and "Are You My Mother?"

Harmonica madness

Debating whether to play the duck beak or the harmonica. Such a big decision!
