Redwood wonder

We had a fun adventure to Muir Woods today with Josh's brother Jesse (a.k.a. Fritz) and his fiancee' Jenny to see the redwoods. It was perfect weather and the trails weren't muddy! :-)

A baby pigeon

A pigeon named Betty (Evan named her!) laid eggs in Evan's pear tree pot on his tiny deck. The fluffy yellow baby arrived yesterday and is yet to be named. What fun that Evan and Petra have a new baby at their house! My mom figures she's the great-grandmother. Another egg could hatch any day now. :-)

Brothers? Best friends!

The way the story goes, Evan was born July 29 in Leavenworth and Karen took over Connie's room at the hospital and gave birth to Micah on July 31. But, there's still the question of whether they were switched and Micah is really a McCauley. I don't think so! He's a competitive Rieke all the way! Once, Terry and John dressed them in each other's clothes as babies to see if the moms noticed. They did.

Postgame relaxation

My colleague and pal, Eric Risberg, snapped these on the street in San Francisco the other day after the game -- and after one mojito I was feeling very good. :-) It was in the mid-90s last week, way TOO HOT for May!

Spring hike

We had a fun hike in the Oakland Hills not too long ago with my friend Tracy and her pooch, Simon.

Hanging out

Omar always has great stories to share! Muchas gracias to Luis Torres for the great pictures.

Cousins and sisters!

Pinky held a bridal shower at her house in Gig Harbor for Katie, who's wedding is up next on June 14, followed by the birth of her baby boy in September!! YAY!! :-) Janie, Katie and Karen belong to Connie, Ann and Pinky in that order. Any family resemblance between the sisters?!

Micah's wedding!

While the bride, Amy, was gorgeous, I've never seen Rachel look prettier than she did for Micah's wedding. Her braces had just come off a couple of days before! It was a special, emotional day. In the photo with Kevin and Micah smiling up front, John Schramm on the left (John Rieke's sister's husband, and Karen's brother married Micah and Amy -- 40 years after they also married John and Karen!).
