Quick Monterey trip

Thanks for our fun Frozen roller bags, Grandma Connie! XO!
Dad had a free Marriott night that had to be used by Saturday, so he had the great idea of driving down to Monterey on New Year's Eve, having dinner and watching a movie in the room before going to the aquarium on New Year's Day.
Fun indoor pool! We spent 2 1/2 hours swimming!

We love our new dresses, Auntie Petra. Thank you!
Lily had a very swollen right knee (cause unclear) and couldn't walk for two days. A little Ibuprofen after a doctor visit helped and we avoided (for now) having to take her for an X-ray. Josh's shoulders and neck were tired after carrying her at the aquarium all day.

Ahhh, peace. We needed a mini break after two long NFL seasons, and now new coach searches for both the 49ers and Raiders.

Lily must've gone through the jellies exhibit five times. It's amazing.

Emma and I went for a short sunset run once home from Monterey and saw a huge blue heron!
 Happy New Year!

Octopuses, squid and cuttlefishes create an amazing array of colors, patterns, textures and shapes for camouflage and communication. Chromatophores—color organs made of nerves and muscles and tiny sacs of pigment—transform these animals as they hide from predators or hunt for prey.
(Rachel, I wear my brown hat from you all the time ... thanks again!!).
