Check out Upper Valley Swim Team circa. early 1980s?? I hope that's the last time I sported a Husky sweatshirt. Micah Rieke will always swear (and the rest of us won't dare argue) that Megan is the best butterflier to ever go through the summer swim league.

Baseball countdown...

This is the time of year all the "seam heads" out there start the countdown to spring training ... the day pitchers and catchers report. For the A's and Giants, that's Feb. 12 to Phoenix. Yes, I'm a little excited to get to the desert. I will miss my friend Yuka in the press box this year. She got a job with a Japanese paper in NYC.

Felton's Fort

We had a great visit with Travis, Frances, Sivert and Felton in Washington, D.C. My Mom made Felton, who turns 3 in May, this fort for Christmas to go over a card table out of the material from Grandpa Gordon's old couch. We also took a field trip to the Spy Museum with Travis and Sivert, who is a correspondent for his Toronto school while they are in Washington for Frances' fellowship for 10 months. It was nearly 70 degrees in January, too!
