1st grade and Pre-K!

Emma's front tooth is hanging on by a string giving her a fang-like appearance. :) She took the hand of a new girl in her class who was crying this morning and walked her into the school, which made me quite proud. Lily is loving Pre-K and they will begin their letters curriculum next week.

Escaped from the Rock!

Patient fans! Tough 1.5-mile swim from Alcatraz to Aquatic Park. It was great but doubt I need to do this again. No sharks, just a 250-pound man in blue goggles zig-zagging my path until I gave him a little kick to let him know - nothing harmful or too awfully rude.
My sweet swim partner, Antonia. We were about 4 minutes apart, as I finished in 53 and she in 57. We're both quite pleased and cried at the finish we were so relieved.

Janey Mac, some people call me that

A friend I made at the Vancouver Olympics when I interviewed his wife at the curling venue (only to learn they are from the Bay Area and always at Giants games) sent me this from his trip to Kinsale, Ireland, in County Cork where all the McCauleys were from back in the day. My Dad would love this, despite a different spelling. (Bob's reflection is in the window).

Flashback... an old friend, Barry Bonds, HA!

Waited out the home run king for about 40 minutes last night and eventually got the first and only interview he has done since being legally cleared last month. (It's a little humid here this week, note the crazy hair that might have scared him into not saying no for good.) He said no to the interview first, said his statement said it all to which I replied, "That's not good enough, you're right here in the flesh and must feel awfully relieved." We spoke for 8 minutes.

Lily day

No preschool meant a Lily and Mom day, and she's a fun workout buddy. The hat and sunglasses were for our stroller run, then we hit the garage for weights and abs.

Happy 40th birthday, dear Rachel!

 We LOVE you dearly!
Here's celebrating you, special and dear friend Rachel! I cherish our lifelong friendship and love you so much. Your parents would be very proud of the woman and mother you are. Just know that from my heart! Holden and Karen are so lucky to have you.
(And we will all be joining you in a new decade very soon.) Lots of Love!
Fun memories of our Southern California visit to meet Karen.
And to Montana to meet Holden! :)
 Such a special visit!
