Pool time lapse this morning

Swim pal Paul did this neat time lapse - it's pretty fast - this morning.
Afterward, it was time for another session of "Trainer Jane" as it's now being called
when we do our post-swim ab/core work, band strengthening exercises and weights.

Surprise, I so enjoy making new friends, and am thrilled that Paul's wife recently told him to get back swimming or they'd cancel their pool membership. His speed in the neighboring lane this morning led me to a PR mile of 29:57, plus some post-swim planks/ab work and push-ups.

Mom, Henry is Robyn's husband.

Best part of being in 40s...

My hair does THIS curly thing on its own. It can't be from swimming
as I wear a cap so it must be hormones. For the first time in my life, I like my hair.

Weekend fun...

Just keep swimming...

Thanks to my fun Alameda firefighter pals for today's pool push - and a quick 50 push-ups between last four laps ... 11.9 miles this week, 189.77 for the year and counting.
Annual photo with Tim Flannery, one of the best in the baseball business who's also a darn good musician and is all about the theme of "Love Harder." Thanks for the example, friend!
Talking bats with Rajai Davis. Pleasure to have him back in the Bay. (Thanks to the great Michael Zagaris for capturing this fun moment on opening day).

And this special surprise last week!

Al and Bernie, two all-time NBA coaching greats!

Always a special night when you can personally tell someone like former SuperSonics coach Bernie Bickerstaff that he and his teams shaped your childhood and what you're doing today. He gave me a chuckle hearing of the postgame shenanigans Evan and I pulled, then a nice hug.
He and Al Attles (who played in Wilt Chamberlain's 100-point game as a Warriors teammate and went 8 for 8 with 17 points and is still handsome, sweet and sharp at age 80) razzed each other like back in their coaching days. And Al asked me to join them in a photo. Fun night!
